NGD: Goldtop Goodness

This past weekend my cover band had a gig and I played the Goldtop, the whole night. It played superbly and give me everything I asked it to. So far I'm good with the Suhr SSH+. Need a little more time with it.

The prev owner named the guitar, Goldie, which I found out after I bought it. It hit a heartstring because that was the name of our golden/lab mix we had for 14 years and had to put to sleep 2 years ago due to a enlarged spleen that was going to burst. That would have taken her anyway and she was not comfortable. One of the hardest things we've had to do. I will keep the name with the guitar.

The strap I used with it is one of the those CFG "weight relieving" straps. I was using it with my Jazz bass but since that is sitting in the closet, I decided to use it with this Les Paul. At 10lbs, I need a strap that makes it comfortable for extended periods.

I gotta say, have 2 Gibson Les Pauls at the same time is something I never thought I'd do. I've had a Studio in the early 90's, an Epiphone Standard in the early 2000's (early MIC era), and now these. While my LP Double-Cut Junior kit guitar isn't a Gibson, it's every bit a Les Paul DC Jr as the real thing. So, I can say I have 3. ;)
