Chickenwings
Alnico 6/8
I have a 335 which is a total killer. Its very strong in the mids, and it has a huge chunky neck that just says "lets go". Kinda like riding a Ducati.
Anyway, my last axe was a guild bluesbird with killer pickups (duncan 59s) and its sound once made Lulo Reinhard's manager piss his pants at the tone.
So...i dont like gibson 57s pups. And i dont like 300k pots. I put a jazz neck in my 175 which made the 57s sound like epi pickups.
So...ive had this 335 for 2 years and i know it really well. Strong mids and a very vocal quality. The 57s replicate the same frequencies it naturally resonates at, but they die in the top and have not enough bottom. IN short...they suck.
So ive finally got around to ordering the parts to complete this superb instrument.
A pair of 59s to fill around the strong midrange of this guitar and give it some more muscle in the top and bottom, and this:

maybe im lazy getting the assemled rig, but im rubbing my hands together!
The electric tone of my old bluesbird combined with the amazing sounding wood of the 335.
Can't wait!
