The guitar is so loose, and the drums are so on the grid/mechanical ... it sounds very weird. You need to add some swing to those drums!!

next time Ill make sure the humanizer button is turned on for the drums, maybe look at making purposful mistakes off the grid if it does not take me too long to do. ya it is very gridded and mechanical, I agree. I would like an electronic drumset but the guy in the apartment above would not like that sound I am pretty sure. really acoustic drums are best.

Heck yeah, it is super difficult to make MIDI drums swing. The song is really cool, it's just that contrast threw me off!

These days, most artificial intelligence drum sequencing software has a Swing percentage parameter and, in some cases, the means to vary this through the duration of the sequence.

If you have access to the individual MIDI Note data that is triggering the drum samples, it should be possible to drag the note events using your computer's mouse. Where there are stab/accent hits in the guitar parts, you can re-position the drum triggering MIDI Note events to be as exactly in time as you desire.

Some percussive accents benefit from being absolutely in time with the other instruments. Some drumming feels better when it either pulls or pushes relative to where the strict metronomic beat would fall. The trick is to strike a balance between mechanical accuracy and the human element.

There are not enough hours in the day to make microscopic timing corrections to every MIDI Note in your backing sequencer tracks. On the other hand, if the drumming is sloppy, the whole ensemble sounds sloppy.
