I'm screwed.... Tele content

much to my amazement, I'm really starting to like this Texas Tele thing.

Pups? Yeah, they're okay.

Fit and finish? Tops, for sure.

Color? nope, honey thing ain't working for me on this one.

But, it's not that.

It's the 12" radius fretboard. This is what I've been missing in the Fenders I've tried and gotten rid of. Bend and sustain.

It's supposed to have an Ash body, not the alder of the regular Hwy 1. I'm unsure how to really tell the difference.

I think I'm going to send it back and try a bust version. Even though the neck isn't tinted like I wanted, the radius is a joy to play.

Cool, I'm glad you like your new toy. I'm kinda leaning toward getting a tele here soon, but we'll see. I've got an entire list of g.a.s items I need to get. :)

my favorite fender neck is a maple mij thats been played and flattened a little so its probably close to 12". 10" is ok, so is 14" but i think right around 12" is where i like it.

theres a 2tone sunburst b-stock for $611 at music123.com...

I agree about the neck ... that's one thing I don't care for on the reissue models

I like the 9.5" radius on the American series necks, or 10-12" radius on other guitars.

Scott, have you considered putting the neck on Ebay and picking up a Warmoth neck? Those 10-16 inch compound radius necks are great. I have one theat's being delivered this week for my Strat project. Unless you're set on keeping the guitar 100% Fender, I would seriously consider going the Warmoth route for the neck. By the time you sell the original neck, it shouldn't be very expensive.

That's why I love Warmoth. I like Strats for the most part, and I've wanted a single coil guitar for a while, but I would never buy an actual Fender because of the thin, narrow necks, the smaller radius, and the smaller frets. Thanks to Warmoth, that's not a problem.
