I never actually got to try the Invaders with the covers on them, but I"ll bet they sound rad.

Ya like that? Easiest "mod" in the. World to do. A row of the allen screws holding down the covers. Never knew that about you Andy.

Pretty cool, I remember Tattoed Carrot was looking for doing this back in 2004. What did you use for the pole pieces on the other coil under the cover?

Just the regular invader pieces.

How is that? The Invader poles under the cover would make the cover wobble. Is the cover on level all the way around the baseplate or is it jacked on one side pushing up on the cover?

Well the side with the poles and the outside tilt the cover a little bit, but it's not something **** my pants about.

Thyey still look good. You're not going to lose the sonic impact of the covers...and even if you don't like them, grab an allen wrench and take them off.

Althoug now that you mention it, a spacer of some sort would fix the tilting issue. If it's really an issue at all. Hmmm...

I've drilled a cover for a Detonator for both rows. I was getting squeal even with the screws tight, I put some thin plastic washers between the screws and the cover and that took care of that. Didn't seem to change the sound of the pickup at all, just less noise.

You could use the bigger dimarzio screws or hammer in some pole pieces though.

Some kid on here did it. Added chrome Invader polepieces too. Looked sweeeeet.

I've got one in the bridge of an SG. I was thinking of getting a matching one for the neck. Got a Cool Rails in there now, but it isn't wired up yet. I'll get it finished this weekend.
