I'm tired of pretending

I have a Bullet Strat. Nothing wrong with it after a setup and electronics swap. Plays good, sounds great.

I am guessing several different pieces, too, huh?

Definitely. The Affinity series is a step up from Bullet, and I've seen a couple of crazy ones. My Butterscotch Tele body had 5 pieces that were all visible through the finish

that I don't like the thinner Bullet Squier bodies over the full size pieces of wood.

Since when has Bullet Squier had thin body?

They at least used to have full-size basswood body.

Affinity has thinner body, and used to be alder, but don't know if that is still the case?

I have one partscaster built from Affinity alder body and Peavey Raptor neck and it's great.

My 2005ish Bullet Strat and 2020ish Mustang both have bodies that are thinner by maybe 1/4"

I have a couple of Bullets, the oldest from 2012 ish, both thin bodies. The oldest Chinese one I purchased to deep scallop and sounds OK, the newer HSS Indonesian one is 6lbs, very resonant and sounds great.

Affinity can be either thickness.

Headstock and fret size for both lines are all over the place.

The Bullet line is now discontinued, the Sonic line is now the cheapest. No idea how thick they are.

As to which I prefer, I honestly couldn't say. My thick and thin Strats are all set up with different actions, tunings and string guages and have totally different neck profiles.

I've played a handful of these cheaper import guitar with thin bodies. They feel & sound great as long as I can dig into the setup of the instrument effectively.
