Important warning regarding the TB-2n spacing

Re: Important warning regarding the TB-2n spacing

He cannot use DiMarzio's measurements when it comes to Duncan's pickups. Both manufacturers even have different standard spacing measurements, not by much, but not the same either.

Dave: That's a cool recommendation. It makes total sense with the output. It's not a pickup you see everyday.

Agreed, I'm just picking on Dimarzio for putting that recomendation out there, with reference to their string spacing. I never liked that recommendation, and here's a case where it's affecting a Duncan customer.

That's just Dimarzio's flawed logic. A regular spaced neck pickup is fine for guitars with wide spaced bridges and nuts. So I have to disagree with them on that recommendation, using F spaced neck pickups on 43mm nut trem guitars. MAYBE a 1 3/4" extra wide nut, but still not necessary.
Yes you are right but, the design of this pickup is not really intended for the neck position. BTW, I like F-spaced pickups with 1 3/4 nut widths!

Am I the only one who finds a trem spaced neck pickup? Generally I go with just regular spaced pickups for neck pickup for all guitars regardless of trem or not.

Great thread, I had no idea that there's a neck Trembucker model!

Hi davedvdy,

Please be careful, the answer to you statement is "yes there's" and "no there's not" simultaneously:

Yes, there's a trembucker with coils calibrated for the neck, and

No, there's not a Trembucker that will fit the usual neck spacing of a guitar with a Floyd-Rose-Type bridge.

bowzee.
