Impulse buy - let's get loopy

On an impulse, but yet something I've been considering for awhile, I picked up one of these, yet to be in my hands:

Didn't really need anything fancy, just something that loops that I can work out solos and harmonies, and understand scale theory a bit more by having chords in the background. Also thought it may be cool to loop a riff and move a mic around and see where the sweet spot is on my cab (or fine-tune controls w/out having to worry about playing at the same time) in some recording tests, and possibly for re-amping.

It was between this and the mooer but this had an additional USB feature.

The more I read about what people are doing with loopers, the more I kinda want one. Do keep us posted on your experience with it.

I have seen the looper you bought under several names and forms (rebrands). My guess is you will like it, does what it needs to do, and will suit you fine for what you are after!!
It truly is a fun way to make music and to get deeper in scale theory! A must have I think! Just make sure it comes with a decent manual (or that you can download one) to make sure you figure out all the functions (such as overdubbing etc...)!!!
Have fun with it and keep us posted on how you like it!

Man when I was getting into looping in the 80s, there was nothing around. Now lots of companies make functional loopers.

Re: Impulse buy - let's get loopy

mini review/first impressions - super tiny. I knew it was small but I was still shocked seeing it in person.

It's pretty easy to use. I was able to lay stuff down very quick.

The downside is that with gain, things muddy up very quickly. You can't really play a heavy rhythm and solo over it much clarity. However, if you just switch channels after the first loop has been recorded you can dial in a cleaner tone that works better for layering. It's neat to be able to fool with amp knobs w/out actually playing! I can already tell I'd be able to use it for reamping.

If I really need a gain lead sound to work something out, I'll probably set up a two amp thing where I record a riff and play that in one amp then use another amp to lead with. That won't enable me to record the lead part on the pedal, but I could capture that with a cel video if I needed to.

So far so good, but to those considering a pedal like this - realize it's more for clean channel/super low gain playing.

Same as a Ditto basically.

Get three and have triple the fun!

Re: Impulse buy - let's get loopy

Put it in the effects loop, or put a gain pedal before it, and don't use the gain from the amp.
