Why would you buy an amp for the sole purpose of modifying it? :smack:
Don't you think it would make more sense to get what you are looking for in the 1st place?
BTW, I just got a DSL100 today & I love it. Of course, it's still the honeymoon period...

I would have kepy my DSL100 if it had 2 seperate EQs with the mid cut button and the other bass button just on the gain channel. Other than that, it was kick ass.

Because it is cheaper than buying a much more expensive amp, plus he really turns the amp into something extremely useful, most amps sounds ok but not overly good stock, besides their basic tone is there, it is a Marshall, makes plenty of sense to me, it is like buying a guitar and get some Duncans for it, he does not change the amp in a radical way, he just makes it come out awhole lot more :burnout:

Sounds like this guy's got you a bit brainwashed. He "turns it into something usefull"???? So, what you are saying is that the stock amp that is good enough for Jeff Beck, Gary Moore, & countless other pros is just not "usefull" for you? If you have a tone in your head that you want to duplicate economically, call Trace at voodooamps.com and he will build and ship you a head for a hell of alot cheaper than buying a Marshall DSL and then shipping it out to have it worked on. Plus, aren't Marshalls pretty damn expensive in Denmark? How about Koch, or Bogner, or H&K? Can't you get those pretty cheap out there? Come on, I'm a gear geek too and have spent waaaaay too much money for boutique overpriced stuff also but to call the DSL "not usefull" is ridiculous. We all need to step back sometimes and ask ourselves if we like playing or buying.
Speaking of that, I wish I lived way out in the boonies alone so I could play now...

Yeah no brainwashing sorry, just using my ears, if you could get it why the hell not use it??
It is not even expensive and the mod is fairly uncomplicated, then you can ditch the extra "boost" pedals and all that.
What the "pros" are using is irrelevant, because they use different stuff in the studios, Marshall are not that expensive here, they have oversaturated the market ever since the JCM800 hit the streets in the 80's, so the prices are up for debate in the shops, maybe a little more expensive of late, but still not as overcharged as Boogies and other US stuff.
They are good amps, abit ordinary sounding stock, because they do not have the same big sound as the old Plexi's or early JCM800's, this guy makes them sound bigger and less compressed, all in all just fatter and more of it all.
And you get your own thing out it as well, one less thing to worry about is a plus in my book.
And I am not saying that the damm thing is not useful, plus if you heard the amps before and after you would probally not be writing all that you have sofar :wink:
