In need of a chorus pedal

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

Get the Digitech Chorus factory. It has pretty much all the best chorus pedals. At least the most popular ones.

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

I've tried several including the Boss and Analogman Mini-Chorus. The one I liked the best and kept was the Thunder Tomate Analog Chorus. Very lush sounding and True Bypass switching. I'm not sure if they make it anymore, but you can check with www.guitareffectspedals.com

Great guy to deal with and great prices.

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

The Boss DC-2 has been out of production since 1989. There's a couple on eBay right now, one of them is Buy It Now for $199, another with no bids and two days to go at $150.

Cheers.........................wahwah

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

From my knowledge of behringer pedals they are extememly close to originals especially considering price but as the dimension c clone is fairly new they probably arent that common with guitarists yet.

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

gonna throw this out there for consideration. I use the Ibanez RC-99 chorus. It's based on a rotary chorus like a leslie effect. It has speed, depth, delay, and level control so you can engage it to bring the signal down, unity, or even a boost with the chorus engaged. You can adjust the delay of the signal for even more versatility. This thing does it all. From light shimmer to full on sonic chaos, it can deliver and it's built like a tank and isn't really that expensive. I highly endorse this pedal.

+1 Had one of those:)
And it goes from old Boss style chorus to really fast leslie like tones!
Then Thomas made a one of a kind chorus/flanger pedal, I use that one now, just until our new 9v comes around.

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

Consider the Ibanez BC-9 (used, hunna dollar) two different chorus modes, one is lush, the other is crystalline, both can be controlled independently.
Once a week on eBay

Consider the Maxon Vintage Series CS-550, (used, hunna-fitty dollar), natural, warm, organic. Much better than the CS-9Pro.

Consider the Analogman clone chorus. Absolutely fabulous but for one detail: it does swap the original tone a bit too much for my taste. But Uber-thick!

I was not happy with the Keeley-modded Boss CE-2. The original was better, but too limited. The BC-9 covers that territory and more.

The MXR chorus sucks. Does volume fades you can't turn off.

The Boss CH-1 sucks. The CE-5 is actually not terrible (just tolerable).

The EHX choruses are nowhere near as good as the Maxons.

Re: In need of a chorus pedal

I've used an Ibanez CS-9 for years- I've used it in stereo- occasionally- but I get an effected signal through either output. As I recall, it's a chorus-y swirly thing going from amp to amp.

My favorite chorus I've played with was an OLD TC Electronics Chorus/Flange thing. My Ibanez rawks tho...

For those who use a chorus pedal, how important is the stereo feature of it? I only really use one amp, although I have 2.

The stereo function is next to worthless to me- except if you're using the pedal as a splitter between two amps, which I rarely do.
