In the market for a delay pedal...

I've got less than 200 bucks to spend for a delay pedal. I've pretty much narrowed down my choices to these:

Pros and cons of each one? Opinions?

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

Have you considered a Digitech delay pedal? I've been very happy with their sound.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

A buddy of mine, who might become the rhythm guitarist for my band, has just gotten the aquapuss. If you can find one in stock, get it man. It sounds phenomenal. If it had a tap tempo, I would own one already.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

I have a Malekko 616, and like it quite a lot. But am not familiar with the others.

Would try to help, if you were to have questions about it.

B ;)

i actually emailed dunlop about a tap tempo version of the carbon copy and they said no plans for that. they did say however that a second version of the apua puss was coming our way with. . . tap tempo!

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

i highly recommend the duncan deja vu tap delay ... a good bit less expensive than your budget too - very full featured ... glad mine is back on my board after a snafu

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

depends on how much delay you want...the aqua puss has a fairly short delay...300ms i believe.

the other two have 600ms...

also...do you want modulation?

the 616 has modulation...but the EQD Jr does not (but the full size EQD transport does!) and the aquapuss has some modulation effect with the feedback knob.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

I keep coming back to the Visual Sound H2O. Seperate chorus and delay in one package. The delay is digital but it's the best 'analog' sounding digital delay I've every heard. I think the chorus is analog but I can't remember for certain.

Price wise it's around $175.00

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

I was in the market for a delay once. Then the desire went away. But then all of a sudden it came back equally as powerful and seemed to subside with the same velocity. Later, the desire came back, only this time, not as strong, perhaps a little less trebly. Finally the desire came back one last time, barely noticable.

The next time I played a note it happened all over again. :33:

When I do get a delay, it will most likely be the SD.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

The only one pictured that I have is the Malekko. I love it. I use it for analog delay and I use a Guyatone MDm5 for digital delay. The Malekko just makes things shimmer nicely.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

Check out the CMATMODS Deeelay, it's a great sounding pedal albeit very old school.

Re: In the market for a delay pedal...

I hate to birdwalk you one more time, but you owe it to yourself to check out the Line 6 Echo Park.

I was against them riiiiight until I plugged one in.

I'll give this a +1. Best delay pedal I've ever used.
