LOVED that set up with the old Carvin module in a ST 300 I had sold out from under me locally. I take it that is the Ghoto Floyd with the Graphtect saddles?
The one I played with the old electronics was absolutely jaw dropping on the acoustic tones!

Re: Incoming NGD - 2014 Carvin CS6

It pretty much like a Gotoh just Graph Tech Branded. Sufficient at what it does Floyd-wise but I’ll always “prefer” a Vintage German OFR. The piezo is much better now than it was with the Carvin C22N neck pickup and DiMarzio Super Distortion F Spaced Bridge. Nothing against the Super D but I like the Duncan '78s much, much better.

The blended standard humbucker/piezo option is pretty sweet as it retains the '78s tone but adds a clarity to it that you can vary by adding/reducing the volume of the piezo pickups and the straight piezo is just a crystalline clean with a bit of that acoustic string sting to it's tone.

The piezo simply adds more tonal combinations that aren't available with your standard humbucker/pickups. The split mode was pretty cool on the '78s as well in all three modes (humbucker/blended/piezo). I spent some time running it through my Lone Star and 5150 yesterday and was pretty happy with everything I heard through each amp.

Great mods! How are you amplifying the Ghost system?

Re: Incoming NGD - 2014 Carvin CS6

Thank you! Although it has dual jacks; I’m just running it straight into my amp.

Had 2 Carvins with the Acoustic Bridges a AE 185 in solid KOA and a Purple DC 400. Try running the electric side into your Mesa then the acoustic side the house and then blend them. Could shift on the fly straight from acoustic tone to crunched electric or blend both and there are some really cool things you can do with it set up like that. Down side is ground buzz so will have to run a lift.

Re: Incoming NGD - 2014 Carvin CS6

I’ve had a couple of older Carvins briefly through the years, one with the dual stereo output jacks, but this one and the Kiesel I picked up a couple months ago are impressive. I’ll have to try splitting the signal between my two amps.

Gorgeous guitar and tasty upgrade with the pickups!

BTW, the Graphtech is made by Ping, not Gotoh. For anyone who cares.

That is one gorgeous unit! I'm glad it's getting a second chance at life. Carvin has long made some great guitars, and I still have 3 in my arsenal, but none of the pointy goobers.

A one time i had an extensive collection of some of the rarest of the rare Carvin Pointies.
Here are a few

The first guitar that I ever bought for myself was an "84" red Carvin V220 with a Khaler and gold hardware.
