Info on the Groove Tubes 12AX7-M if you've fried one.

I bought one on eBAY (luckily from a recognized GT dealer) a while back and it fried within a month. I thought that was that, but recently I read somewhere that GT was good with replacing this tube. I contacted them and was told that they have a six month warranty. They needed from me the name of the person I bought it from, the reciept and the tube. I contacted the guy from ebay and got the reciept, mailed them the tube and I just got the new one today. I was under the impression if I didn't have the reciept they would have worked with me.

If you've had one fry, give it a shot. The man's name is Rick Benson at 1-800-459-5687

Hope someone gets their tube replaced. :smokin:

Re: Info on the Groove Tubes 12AX7-M if you've fried one.

I've got 3 of them, and never had any problems with them. Every tube company suffers from a bad batch occasionally, and I think that's what happened here.

I heard that there was 1 bad batch of Sovtek LPS too, but fixed the problem quickly.

I don't fry many pre tubes, but last night my brand new JJ ECC803S, which is JJ's best pre tube, died in my Matchless Chieftain. I yanked it out and replaced it, so at least I found the problem quickly.

I just put the new one they shipped to me in my Epi Valve jr. head and so far it's the best tube I've used by far. The stock tube was horrible imho and wasn't too fond of an EH or a JJ 12AY7 (just for ha ha's). This tube seemed to really warm up and open up the amp. The clarity in the chords is much improved, removing almost all muddiness from the amp. Gotta try this tube and the TungSol in some of my other amps.
