I'm right there with you, brother. My 401K is "taking a break" this year to the tune of $15K to front some guitars, amps, etc.

To all ~

Although this is my thread about my '59 VOS, I really want to share the wealth of pictures on the smattering of Monster-Top VOS's that have been purchased year-to-date. I finally got a hold of Jimmy's Custom Shop VOS '59 pics. Have a peek!

All I can say is WOW despite the general quality of the pictures - over the weekend, we'll really do both guitars, justice! And, as a side note, Jimmy's VOS weighs 8.2lbs. :bug

i think you mean "beauty of the burst". It is a great book, with many of the great late 50's L.P.s in it.

I have met Dave a few times. Wonderful guy, and one hell of a player. His original store is where I purchased my 50's L.P.s from.

There's something to be said for rolled edges. And there is something to be said for regular edges that have got that way the hard way...

I have a few "dream axes" but the time and history with my #1 can not be bought. Sure is a purdy slab of axe though. Enjoy!

If you were to go to Amazon.com and search for "Beauty of the Burst", you'll see this guitar on pg. 75. The book is a collection of '58,'59 & '60 Bursts from over the years (compiled) in one book.

Ok - I know what I promised...

The problem is that my Blockhead Amp went down at the Greensboro Jam and is being worked on & my VOS is being tweaked at Gibson (a few minor adjustments based on how I want her setup).

Once I get both things TOGETHER I will post clips; however, I will need to someone to host them for me.

Any takers for hosting a few minutes of sound clips?
