Injector neck, Super Distortion bridge?

Thinking of changing up my humbucker tele a bit--- right now I have a Pro Track in the neck and a Super D in the bridge and I'm debating replacing the Pro Track with an Injector neck pickup.

I really like the Pro Track-- it's just a hair on the warm side, but still can get a little bit of spank if I play differently (picking harder or lighter, depending on what I'm playing). It's just a very organic sounding pickup, which is why I dig it so much. Plus it balances well with the Super D at the bridge.

If I swapped the Pro Track for an Injector neck, would I have a major volume difference between the two? I play most of the time with a fair amount of gain and vary my amount of cleanness by backing off on the volume knob on the guitar. Both pickups are currently very good at adapting to this.

Unless I'm playing dead clean, will the output difference between the Injector and the Super D be an issue? If so, I have a Dimarzio PAF I can pop in the bridge which would make things hunky-dory, but I'm really liking the Super D for distorted stuff right now.

I don't think so. There's virtually no volume drop between my Tone Zone and Area '67 when under gain.

I think that'll be a kick ass combo!

I wonder if the Injector bridge model (at 185 vs/ 160 for the neck version) might work a little better? Same amount of mids, a little more bass and a little less treble...

The Injector neck is an amazing pickup, it is plenty hot. The bridge in the neck will give you fat and kinda dark... the bass might be too much and you'll end up crankin' it down to balance with your SD. People who don't have much experience with the Area series don't understand just how loud these pups are... the Injectors are even louder. My Area pups don't have anywhere near the outputs of their humbucking bridge counterparts in my HSS guitars but have a perceived loudness that is rather quite strong.

If Living Dead can balance a '67 with a Tone Zone and my '67 and '61s give my JBs runs for their moneyz, then an Injector bridge can easily overpower a 13K Super Distortion.

Good luck!
