Re: inlay help

I think the inlay is pretty cool - but clean is nice too. Does the inlay have some significance or meaning other than "Here abouts is the 12th fret?"

Overall I vote inlay

it's a sign i found on the site of one of my favourite guitarist (Sugizo, ex-LunaSea a japanese band)

Re: inlay help

Personally I don't like inlays that cross from one fret to another. I don't know why, I just don't. Maybe I feel like each fret is an entity unto itself. The exception is a vine inlay. Those are nice, and they span across the frets, but they also span the whole fretboard.

I really like your inlay, though. So perhaps my vote would be for a smaller version of that inlay contained entirely within the 12th fret. And if it looks awkward smaller, then maybe move it towards the bass side of the fretboard.

It's just me... but given this information - I would vote no. I like inlays, but I would rather an original one, or one with universal meaning. Using a design that is associated with another band just seems wrong to me.

Other than that - nice looking guitar - and the inlay does look nice. Have you tried coming up with your own design?
