Inner/Outer Coils in Series?

I used the Freeway 6-way toggle... 3 of them. Together they can do just about anything, but yes, I do combine the inner and outer coils in series. I really prefer combining what I'd call the "upper" coils (neck screw + bridge slug) or the "lower" coils (neck slug + bridge screw) - those happen to be the ones that are still hum-canceling, but they also sound better in this particular guitar, with these Dimarzio PAF Masters. The results are maybe a bit more Filtertron-ish and jangly.

I once tried it, but wasn't a sound I particularly enjoyed. I'm a simple man: humbuckers individually, in series, together parallel in phase (or split, in phase), or out of phase in series (so pickups internally in series, together in series but out of phase). Those seven tones are enough for me.
