Input jack for 1x12 cab

I am in the process of redoing a 1x12 speaker can. I was wondering if the input jack was the same as what I would use in a guitar? Or if there was a certain type I have to get?

There are various quality 1/4" jacks, but all mono jacks are basically the same.

I like the MIA Switchcraft jacks. You want a plain ol' mono jack...not a TRS or a switching jack. These are the most durable I've found.

A mono input jack as you use for guitar (passive) will suit your needs just fine, you don't need a special one at all.
I would also recommend Switchcraft.

I use the Switchcraft 1/4" mono jack which is commonly used for guitar applications. Works just as good on cabs and they are quality jacks.

I know it's not common but if I was building from the ground up I'd use a Speakon jack. But that might be more than you want to fool with so another vote for switchcraft if 1/4" is your choice.
