I will need to replace my input jack and wondered what brand was the best. Are there different materials that are better thanm others etc? Thanks

most people tend to say switchcraft brand is the best...why...honest answer...i dunno lol, just never heard a bad thing about them. sorry, not much help on the "why" but i do know i myself have never had a problem with a switchcraft.

I've gotten the same results from Switchcraft as I have from Radio Shack.

I prefer switchcraft. They are better built and last longer than some of the generic, no name jacks out there. Sure anything will work but how long it will last is another thing.

Unless your jack is shorting through the insulator you may be able to clean up the contact point at the tip connector and rebend the tip connector to make it work properly again. Try a little 1000 grit on the contact point to clean up any corrosion.

Switchcraft.
it's something I've never questioned as far as jacks and plugs
durability and consistency are really what you expect from a mechanical part
