Insane Amp GAS!!!

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

It does sound great in those clips, some of the best I've heard. I was very seriously contemplating on getting one just a week ago, but decided to go for a Diezel instead.

The 6L6 version sounds better to my ears;)
Has that old Marshall roundness in the bottom.
Bugger sound.
Way cool amps.
P'S You mean EL34

EL34 indeed. Anyway, it's tone heaven to me.

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

I love the Lyle Workman clips on te 6l6 model. That Spaghetti Western bit with the Baritone is killer. Almost makes me GAS for a Bari, but I know I'd almost never use it.

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

i saved those clips a few weeks back when i was checking them out...very nice...you should go to the Carr site and check out the Slant 6v Clips too!!!

my ultimate triple threat would be

1.Bogner Shiva
2.Carr Slant 6v
3.VHT Pitbull 45

someday...someday!

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

Anyone know where I could find either the Shiva EL34 or Metropolis combo? I love the clips I've heard from these!

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

The EL34 is the real deal and will tear up any stage, anywhere - MY FAVE AMP

I have AB'd the EL34 amp vs Genz Benz. Roccaforte, Mathless - you name it! Even against the Ecstasy. SHIVA ALWAYS WINS!

I do not know the EL84 model but I LOVE Bogners.

The Rocca is the only amp rude enoughto compete. BUT THE BOGNER is both RUDE and sweet AT THE SAME TIME!

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

Thanks Hoss, but I could only find a guy selling the 1x12 cab. Thanks anyway though, there's tons of cool stuff in the classifieds there. I saw enough stuff around there to give me some ADD and get my mind of this Schiva. Don't know if I can buy a new one now. Will have to keep scouring the used market.

Re: Insane Amp GAS!!!

I think the Shiva is alright, but a little bit fizzy for my tastes. You can hear a fair of top end sizzle in some of the clips on the Bogner site, but only at very high amounts of preamp gain. It's still a very nice amp for singing lead tones and medium gain rock crunch. The Shiva cleans are incredible. They have a top end with a perfect balance of chime and warmth. Definitely the best clean channel I've ever heard on a channel-switching amp.
