Installed and SH-6

Well, I finally got my hands on another SH-6b and put it in last night. When I got it all strung up and played it I got a lot of feedback when I used this pick up. Is it normal for this pick up to get a lot of feedback or do I need to go back and re-check my solder points and wiring? I looked over it again and it looks like its wired up properly.

Re: Installed and SH-6

I've had one and never had feedback problems. I haven't read about any feedback problems either.

Re: Installed and SH-6

I'm wonder if maybe I need some other ground wire or what not. Maybe Ill just bring it to a shop and have them take a look see.

Re: Installed and SH-6

There should be some clarification here:

Feedback: An amplified signal that causes the string(s) to vibrate creating an a loop

Microphonic: The coil(s) of the pickup vibrate sympathetically to the amplified signal creating high pitched squealing

Does it squeal when you have your hands on the strings to keep them from vibrating? = Microphonic and it needs to be re-potted.

Its more like the microphonic except its not really a squeal. Ill be holding the strings and then Ill just get a lot of what sound like feedback and then when Im playing theirs a bit of hiss to it.
