Installed Hot Rails Set For Tele. Now Making Strange Noises..

Hi All,

I had my Tele pickups changed to a set of SD Hotrails for Tele Set (Bridge and neck)
After the install, which was done by a tech, I got the guitar home and it buzzed like there was a grounding problem. Touching a string or any metal part stopped it. I brought it back to my tech the next day and it wasnt doing this now..However, Everysound made on the guitar was now coming through the amp..knocking on the body, tapping the cable at the guitars output, even moving the cable around on the floor was coming through the amp. Thinking maybe the pickups were microphonic we ordered another set.

Well...the new pickups came in (Duncan Hot Rail set still) and he is getting the same issues!!!!!! Now, the tech is a guy I totally respect. He does this all day every day and know his stuff. Any other ideas??? This Tele does have gold hardware..bridge, control plate, etc. Not sure what they are made of...but could this be an issue? The body itself maybe?? The pickups are replacing an EMG set and all electronics are new..including pots! Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you!!

if its humming its a grounding issue some where. gold is very conductive

Definitely a problem with the grounding. Doesn't matter how much you trust your tech, he missed something. Both times. Tele's are pretty easy to get good grounding due to the metal (gold, in your case) control plate. Have your tech check the grounding again and make sure EVERYTHING is grounded.
