installing a humbucker cover - tips needed

I'm thinking of buying a Seymour Duncan nickel cover, aging it, and putting it on a 59N pickup that I've been using in the bridge position of my humbucker esquire.

Is there a trick to installing it? I know to solder the cover to the baseplate, but do I need to make sure the inside of the cover on the top (the area above the pickup bobbins) is wax coated or anything? I'm hoping that the process isn't too involved. I don't want to have to dunk the whole thing (pickup or cover) in wax..

nevermind! It's amazing what the search function turns up sometimes :)

i think you just cover the inside of the cover with wax, put the cover on, solder it and blast it with a hair dryer to get the wax flowing.

This is no big deal. I get most of my PU's used online (usually for about half price) and most are open coil. Since I don't like that look, I always put covers on them. I rarely solder them on, as the tape & wax hold them fairly snug. Unless you're playing at some pretty high volumes, you shouldn't have any feedback issues.

What, I thought you just give it a couple nails?
