Installing my new pickups

Hey guys. I just bought a duncan distortion SH-8b and a duncan invader SH-6b and was wondering what the correct wiring diagram for a B.C. Rich Mockingbird Masterpiece series would be? Pickups arent my strong point so when I looked at all the options on this page http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/ it kinda through me off...thanks for the help in advance guys its much appreciated =)

Re: Installing my new pickups

Go to Humbucker drop down menu and look for "Two volumes, one tone and one 3 way". I believe this should match the actual configuration of your guitar.

Re: Installing my new pickups

Cant you just wire them the same way as the pups already in your guitar, taking into account different manufacturers wiring colour codes?

I put two Invaders in to replace a couple of DiMarzios in my RR3 and just basically followed the connections already there.
Just remember to connect the red/white (I think that's it) wires on each pup - I didn't do that and I was lost for a while wondering what the problem was!

Re: Installing my new pickups

Thanks guys =). What you told me Metalhead was my first guess but I just wanted to be sure.

Re: Installing my new pickups

If I were to leave a few inches of the stock wiring that is already sodered on to the pot from my original stock pickup can I just strip the new and old back alittle bit then connect the wires together instead of desodering all of it? It would really save time because all I would have to do then it match the colors and connect without having to resoder and all that stuff.

Re: Installing my new pickups

Yes, although most people would tell you it won't work as well. I'm no expert, I've only fitted one set of pups - but I think if it'll make life a whole lot easier for you, just do it.

Re: Installing my new pickups

Well thats what I did and I got a real bad him coming through my amps. Its probably because its not grounded properly and stuff but either way I gotta take it in..

I wouldnt do that just yet. If no one on here can help try other forums, like the JCF one.

Did you solder together the red and white wires (or at least join them) before you taped them off?

Oh, remember different pickup manufacturers use different colour codings on their pups. If you just used the same colours it may be your problem.

Re: Installing my new pickups

Yeah I just went wire to wire with the same colors and stuff. They also sounds twangy. Idk if its because they are both high output or what but hopefully the twangy tone goes away when I get it done correctly
