Installing pickup covers........potting question

I'm going to be putting a cover on my Virtual Hot PAF so it matches with my Phat Cat neck and wonder if any of you have used the 'electrical tape method' instead of wax. Also, do you have any tips for me on doing this for my first time?

Put a strip of 1/2" masking tape inside the cover where the nonadjustable slug polepieces will be resting against when you clamp the cover on. Clamp it on real tight and solder it on. Should work fine. Lew
