Installing Red Devil bridge humbucker into strat

I installed a Billy Gibbons red devil humbucker in the bridge of an old strat which has it's original single coils. Did something wrong with the wiring - green wire to switch, black to ground I was told? And where exactly does the red and white wire go? Any help please!!

You got the green and black wire right. Red & white are soldered together and taped off so they don't touch anything.

right. the red/white is the series connection, without that you wont get sound just using the black and green wires

dont do that. youre just asking for trouble down the road

Didn't say it was a good idea. But...a good twist and righteous tape will work just fine. If you are a lazy solderer, or a lazy twist and tape...gonna have problems either way!

I did tape off the red and white wires together. The sound is very thin though, that's why I thought I should try some other way?

yes, solder that connection. then cover it with electric tape or shrink tube. frequently i dont even heat the tube, i just slide it over the wires to cover the connection, that way i can easily slide it off if i want to wire up coil splits or something
