Installing SSL-3 in Strat

Re: Installing SSL-3 in Strat

Reversing leads for phase has nothing to do with whether it's a tapped pickup, or if you are using the tap. It's just to make sure the pickups are electrically in phase so you don't get weird thin tones due to phase cancellation chopping out the common frequencies.

I don't know whether GFS pickups are same polarity/orientation as SD, sorry.

I have GFS and Duncan pickups living in harmony together --- nothing out of the ordinary needs to be done.

Wire your hots to your switch, your grounds to your ground location, per usual.

Both the GFS pickups and the Duncan pickup should come with a card that describes which color wires are hot and ground.

If they didn't, poke around the websites and find out, or PM me and I'll be glad to help!
