Interesting use of the SFX-01 pedal.

Its a simple little thang, but it works. I often swap guitars back and forth as I'm trying new things. Sometimes its a pain to have to get up, roll the volume down on the amp, swap the cable to the new amp, and then bring the volume back up again. WHat I've discovered is that the Duncan Booster makes a nice little "mute" foot-switch if you unplug the 9-volt connector out of the back. (This won't work if you use battery power.)

Now I can just stomp the switch, switch guitars, and stomp back on. Works great. ;)

Somehow, I don't think that was its intended use.:chairfall

Uh, it's true bypass, so shouldn't it still pass signal even with no electricity?

Re: Interesting use of the SFX-01 pedal.

Yes but if the pedal is engaged the signal is trying to go through the circuitry, but with no power it won't go anywhere.

Good point. It might be cheaper to get a Planet Waves Circuit Breaker cord, but I guess whatever works!

Re: Interesting use of the SFX-01 pedal.

I guess that happens with all the 'true bypass' pedals.

If you are using a battery and you can't be bothered to take it out and you want to use a pedals as a kill switch, I think just turning the pedal the wrong way works as a kill switch too. Ie put the guitar where it says 'out' and the amp where it says 'in'.

Re: Interesting use of the SFX-01 pedal.

I think most true- true-bypass pedals would work like that...... But wouldn't an a-b-Y pedal or Boss Tuner work a little better?
