Re: Invader- EMG problems

It works, but the output suffers, which is what the problem in this thread about as stated by the OP.

Ok, I see. That could be true. But since my passive was intended to be the weaker PAF neck spot, it may have been unnoticeable as opposed to having the passive in the bridge where you usually need the hotter pickup to go. That would make sense. But my passive PAF was also bright sounding, so bleeding off the highs didn't seem the case.

So I guess if you want a hot bridge and a weaker neck, put the EMG in the bridge and the passive in the neck and it would work fine,

Re: Invader- EMG problems

We've already come full circle, Kac.

Did you have the passive in the neck and active in the bridge, like TattooedCarrot just said?

Re: Invader- EMG problems

Active bridge, passive middle and neck.
Yea I think this is going to be the difference. Although I lost no highs on mine, it did seem on the weaker side. but that's what I was looking for anyway.

On mine, the PAF in split mode run in the middle position same time as the 85 was he coolest tone. I had the umph and beef 85, with the thinner sparkling overtone snap of the single coil passive. It was very cool (I've since sold the guitar).

Re: Invader- EMG problems

I have since wired up the jazz in the neck and threw the EMG's to the side..maybe use em for my V instead, I am happy with the jazz/Invader setup and will try to get a cover to cover up the gross zebra look. Thanks for all your info you guys...nice to know there are people you can ask a question and get a few dozen honest answers....lol
