Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Dyoood! I've been talking about that exact cap value and recommended it to SEVERAL Invader users for about a year now but nobody listened! I have mine in a mahogany Dean Evo and it sounds tighter w/ high gain and palm mutes than my Duncan Distortion in my basswood ML. Even the single notes have extreme clarity. Try the Duncan Designed Detonator in the neck. It has only one magnet instead of 3 and it sounds HUGE and NOT MUDDY. Great for neck lead work and cleans up nice too.:smokin: :laugh2:

Your still welcome Kac! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Which lugs exactly? The wiper lug to the jack and ground or the pickup lead lug and the wiper lug?

Technically, the ground lug is lug 1, wiper is lug 2 and the pickup lead to lug 3.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

It's the treble bleed mod without the resistor and a slightly larger cap.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

it's not supposed to bleed off treble... maybe i told ya wrong, Ask Theodie!

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

It doesn't bleed off treble. It's a high pass filter which cuts the lows and allows more highs through. That is why it sounds more clear. The treble bleed mod does the same thing only you notice it more while rolling back the volume control, the highs are retained.

I played an ESP tuned down a step at sam ash the other day and was BLOWN AWAY at the sound of the invader in there, WOW, best low end of a pickup ever, it was just monsterous and very clear, i had it in a guitar and didn't like it but later found out that every pickup sounded bad in it because i had the action set too low and the fret buzz and lack of sustain due to this made everything sound weird and harsh. I might pick up another one.

The Invader, or the H3? Which do you like better tonaly? and why? Is one more versatile?

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

That is one bad Mofo...I love it when you roll the volume down and it overdrives it just a bit and some noob who thinks he knows everything looks at your amp set with decent gain and volume and says, "Dude I think you might need some sort of overdrive pedal cause this sounds like s**t" and you just set the knob to 10 and rip on it and the other guy s**ts his pants cause not even his mahogany LP sounds as FAT AND DEVASTATING as this lil' sucka in an alder strat. EAT THAT HAHAHAHAA!!!!!

theyre pretty damn different. the invader has a harder, grittier sound to it and the inherent overload in the mids & bass. the H3 is smoother and more balanced sounding than the invader. there seems to be a lot more room to breathe with the H3, compared to the invader which sounds kinda crowded. id say the H3 is the more versatile one just cause of the less extreme EQ. i really like the H3's cleans too (though i can get some decent/good cleans with the invader really)

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

well i got my invader figured out, as i stated in my thread about the invader, my action was too low and fret buzz made my guitar sound like ass. So far it sounds really great at low volumes, much clearer and meaty as hell. We'll see tomorrow when i get a chance to turn my amp up to hear how it really sounds.
