Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

I just bought another invader. Bumping this thread for my own benefit.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

I think I'm gonna get another, too. I haven't had one in way too long.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

there's a reason I keep going back to 'em again and again and again...

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

It's a sweet pickup, and thanks to a few people hating them, we get to pick them up on the cheap from time to time :)

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

This is one I havent tried yet, Hmmmm....
Is it going in that EVH copy you picked up?

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Thanks for the plug bro! :)

Still have a couple blow outs on Invaders in the Traders Forum.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

I'm still trying to unload my invader...

They must not be that popular, it went 7 days on ebay and nobody would buy it for $49.99. If anyone wants it PM me. It's pretty much new and it's in the box.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

I've still got the Invader I bought from you Kac, in the box. (Well, I traded it for a white one, but regardless, I've got an Invader, Brobucker, and previously installed JB all chilling waiting to be installed in something)

you better get out there and buy a guitar to put it in! :naughty:

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

Bought another Invader myself. Martin thanks, now I have a twin to my other Invader Zebra. First thinngs first is the mushroom caps come off and hex poles go in. I've tried all the mods (1 meg pot, the mod in this thread, wired directly to the output jack) and they all still seemed too muddy for me. The hex head mod is the best mod IMO for this pickup. Try it if the mod in this thread doesn't give the desired results.

where do you get your hex poles?

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

What is the basic wind of this pickup? Is it the JB or the Distortion? (Or are the JB and DD the same wind, independant of the Invader?)

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

KAC I ordered mine online from Mcmaster-Carr. It's probably $10-$12 for a box of 100. 10-32 threads 1/2" length black oxide, you should try it in addition to your mod.

and to think i almost dumped mine just a couple of days ago...im so ashamed!!

I can't find my way around their site very well. PM sent.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

A lot of people whine about how loud and noisy and almost not clean it is, but the thing is, if you are playing with a lot of gain this thing is really pick sensitive and attack sensitive you could almost get different tones out of your guitar by switching picks and really manipulate the dynamics of your playing based on your attack, allthough it will take a while with invader to get use to it.

Re: Invader userers, or potential users, please read

I love my Invaders to death. Even under low gain and (dare I say it) clean tones, they do it all. I'm totally blown away by how much range they can cover. They're by no means strictly for metal. I love 'em!
