Invaders + Superswitch Wiring Diagram?

I have a pair of SD Invaders, and an Oak 5-Way Superswitch ready to go into my refretted Strat.

Every wiring diagram seems to contradict the next. Some say SD neck pickups are already wound backwards, some say to install the neck pickup upside down, some say to spin the 3 internal magnets, and some appear to shunt to ground in the 2 & 4 positions.

Google does not seem to be my friend.

I would imagine that somewhere somebody has successfully done this, has a working diagram, and instructions if the neck pickup itself needs any actual modification.

Any help from the masters?

What do you want the 5 positions to do? None of us could help unless we know that first.

Re: Invaders + Superswitch Wiring Diagram?

I'd like to do the classic splitting of the coils

1 Vol 2 Tone:

1. Bridge humbucker
2. Outside coils of both humbuckers
3. Both humbuckers on full
4. Inside coils of both humbuckers
5. Neck humbucker

This configuration usually says that one of the pickups have to be reverse wound, reverse polarity, for this to be phased correctly; but then I read that SDs are already reverse wound in the neck?

My old bandmate had wired his this way and it always sounded amazing, but he owes me $56 and never returns my calls, even though I've told him I'm not worried about the cash....

This sounds exactly like a blog post I wrote. I explain how to do it here. You do have to flip the magnet in one pickup to keep everything hum-cancelling.

Sounds like you've been getting a lot of mis-information...easy to do. The solution to what you want is very simple. Also, great choice of what you want from each position.

+1 to Dave's "Do-It-All" wiring. Really gets some great tones.

Yes, I think I saw that page when I was Googling around, nice article.

It was not an Invaders project, so obviously it did not address if they are already reverse wound on the neck (as I have seen posted)

Nor did it have 1Vol 2Tone wiring diagram that I need for my Strat (Like you, I'm not a wiring expert)

Flipping magnets, I assume I need to flip them face down, rather than 180* around; but again I need clarification on this.

Thank you all so much!

Yes, flip them like a pancake. I am sure someone here could modify that diagram for the extra tone control.

On a sidenote: I never realized that Invaders were available in zebra before. Those look badass. I hope you'll post pics when she's done.

Of course I'll post pics.

I had Vid1900 from Strat-Talk refret my neck in stainless, so it should be a super sweet guitar, once I get her back together.
