Re: Ion brand electric drums
I've heard OF them, looking around at drums and stuff. I've never actually heard them. I've read reviews that've said they're pretty lousy. If you're looking for electronic drums, but don't have enough for a Roland set, I'd recommend you try Yamaha. I've heard lots of good stuff about them. They've got a 6 piece electronic kit with 3 cymbal pads for less than half the price of Roland's 6 piece kit, and you don't have to buy extra stuff to expand it. If you've got sound samples of drums that you'd like to put into the module, you can simply add them via USB. With Roland, you'd have to buy an extra thing to do that, and it's also expensive.
The module for the ION electronic kit is the Alesis SR-16. If you've heard it and like it, it might be worth it. You could always upgrade the pads and stuff.
