IPad amp

Hey guys, I'm looking to download an app for my iPad to use as an amp. Do any if you use one? And if so, which one and why?

Re: IPad amp

Amplitube! Although I haven't got it on iPad i do have the full version on pc and it's great for getting decent amp sounds in a pinch, still not favourable over recording an actual amp though.

Re: IPad amp

I'm just looking for the best one you guys think, I know a true amp is the best to use, but heck, for about 25-50, you can get a bunch of fun apps and such to mess around with. So I'm just trying to get a good starting point. Thanks for the input! Is it easy to record with? What kind of music do you use it for?

Re: IPad amp

That video helped a lot! Just hoping I'll be able to get a nice blink 182 sound all the way to a heavy metal crunch. Do they offer amps like a Mesa boogie triple rec, or any high gain options?

Re: IPad amp

I'm not sure about the iPad version, but amplitube metal has a mesa under the name metal lead t (trip Rec) for legal reason I'm guessing plus other high gain marshalls etc perfect for what you're after. I use amplitube metal the most and would get that one for the iPad if you can :) there must be a trial of demo version online somewhere to try out

Edit: it doesn't look like amplitube metal is available on iPad :/ the slash one will probably be the highest gain

Re: IPad amp

I use Amplitube on my iPhone for practicing a lot of the time, especially when learning songs. I have a small mixer and run either my PC or old iPod in to one input and my iPhone in to another and mix them so I can hear everything with headphones. Perfect setup when ya have kids and they are asleep.

For a high gain amp, the Soldano SLO is available through the Custom Shop which you can purchase through the app. I also have the Slash pack too. Between the two (3 if you include the 2 Slash amps), I prefer the SLO model.
