Trying to find a solution for better audio with my GoPro I decided to find a solution using my iPhone instead. I hooked up my mxl ribbon mic to a new ik multimedia iRig Pre and send it to my iPhone vid cam. And get this video below, no post production except for a funny YouTube filter

I lmic'd my sterling monitor speaker and played at bedroom volume. Positive Grid bias amp app and ezdrummer

It's pretty low volume.

Re: IRig pre mic in front of monitor speaker

If you are using BIAS and EZDrummer then you are using a DAW...Why arn't you just recording with the DAW direct and syncing it to the video after?

With your setup as I understand it you do not need a mic here at all.

EDIT: Actually both of those have standalone options. Why not then use a DAW if your not and do as I said above?

less post productions. I record on video. upload on youtube. done.

but then yes, i can multitrack both the direct and the mic if I want.

It's worth the extra time to record the audio track in your DAW, bounce it, then synch it up with your video in a video editor.

I used to do live all-in-one-go YouTube videos and I listen back now and they sounded horrible.

Here is room mic vs. straight from DAW:

Granted, I wasn't very good with video sync:burnout:, but I think the audio is cleaner.

So you're being lazy. This would add very little time to the process and would improve the end result drastically.

Re: IRig pre mic in front of monitor speaker

Record video and record audio separately, two steps. Step 3, download video. Step 4, match em up in the software. Step 5 rip them to. Step 6 upload

Vs

Record. Upload.
