Is a short scale bass easier to play?

Actually I think a 5-string is easier to play, if you start at the 5th fret it's like a 4-string.

Yes I have a Yamaha TRBX-505, it's one of the most comfortable bass to play probably because of the neck profile and the small body.

30 years ago, we didn't have choices like we do now, and most players would try to convince you that short scale basses are terrible.

My arms are short, Yes!
The P bass neck is too long for me,
Bonus is shorter scale also equals less string tension to male playing easier.
Also the timber of the notes tend to be a bit darker/richer due to the lower tension.
Not for everyone, but for everyone like Bill Wyman, they work great.
