Is Finger Ease bad for your guitar?

Re: Is Finger Ease bad for your guitar?

I dont use any of this stuff. I just play my guitar... IMO I think all of that stuff is garbage, just play the guitar....

Re: Is Finger Ease bad for your guitar?

Used Finger Ease since the 70s, sometimes my hands feel dry so I give a quick shot on the strings/neck. Always rub my strings with Fast Fret after gig or practices.

Re: Is Finger Ease bad for your guitar?

Any additives are superfluous. Just clean yoiu strings with a soft rag after finishing playing.

Once a year, after cleaning the fretboard, use a little bit of lindseed oil or lemon oil.

That's it.

And never, ever use any compound that has silicone in it.

Follow those simple rules and you'll be playing you axe for at least 50+ years.

Dr. Duck's Axe Wax and Fast Fret here too. Been using them for years - never knew that they was any reason not too.

I like the way my fretboard and strings feel after using these products. Good enough for me.

Re: Is Finger Ease bad for your guitar?

I've had my SG since 1983. I used to clean the board now and then with Linseed Oil and then changed to Lemon Oil. I did this basically because it seemed to be accepted wisdom that you should. At some point a found that if an area of my fretboard was starting to feel a little dry I would just play around that area for a while doing a lot of bends. This works fine - use your own body oils. I haven't found the need to oil my board in over 10 years.

I use the dunlop 65 bottles, ive had tiny one for abou 6 months and its got 1/4 left, a little goes a long way and it really shines up the frets.
