is guitar center good with trades?

Hey everyone. I currently have a Roland GR-33 Guitar Synthesizer (including the special cable and the AC adaptor). I'm interested in trading it for an Electro-Harmonix Microsynth (retails for $260) and either a E-bow ($79) or a Boss TU-2 chromatic tuner ($99). So adding up the value of the stuff that I want, it comes to either $340 or $360 depending on wether I get the E-bow or Tuner.

Looking at ebay, a typical used GR-33 in excellent condition usually goes anywhere from $350 - $420. The initial price of the GR-33 was $650. Based on GR-33 ebay prices, the trade is pretty much equivalent in price.

Do you guys think that will be a tough sell? Any tips?

No, I asked the manager at the GC in Cincinnati and he straight up told me, you are going to get nothing if you trade with guitar center.

Most guitar stores won't give you crap. GGuitars.com said they'd give me $600 for my Don Grosh Bent Top Custom :smack:

Their policy is to pay you 25% of what they sell it for, and give you a cost deal at very best on the new piece.

+1

They were going to give me $200 for my Deluxe Strat Plus.

A store is where you go to buy stuff, not to sell it.

I usually either:
1. consign stuff at a mom-n-pop store
2. sell it one-on-one
or
3. or give it away.

I understand e-bay works for some people. :-)

If you enjoy aggravated homosexual assault then trade-in's at GC should be right up your alley.
