DISCLAIMER : using tom delonge as an example does not indicate that i am a fan in any way.

That was the only person I could think of that was anywhere near metal (yes, I know, not very near at all), but I didn't say anything for the same reasons as the disclaimer!

My solution to this is 6 strats,2 Teles,1 SG,and 1 les paul....I can either rock out or get clean and smooth on anyone of my guitars...

The strat is my main guitar though..It looks cool,feels great,and is less filling...LOL

dang, maybe i should delete this post, its kinda getting too personal

yes i know teles came out first, and that country was meaner at the time, but once you get into the 60's & 70's, with all the blues rock, southern rock & the brit stuff well, it definately had a meaner tone, and strats were used way more than teles

I actually think it was quite interesting. I agree with both sides, really. I think thats the answer. lol. Both Teles and Lesters kick ass. Or really, all guitars kick ass. That could be a good thread replcaement idea Hehe.

Naah....You're entitled to your own opinions,plus I found the postings to be interesting...As long as the personalities can work together,I think this was a great posting...

Teles are great guitars...I need a nice RIC next...

Teles look like crap. Les Pauls are muddy as crap. Strats are THE ****. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Nah... I think there's no "real rock sound"... it's all about what kind of rock you're playing... I think a strat with a bucker in the Bridge and 2 Single Coils @ mid & neck is just a very versatile guitar and can be used for almost anything... if you need a really fat sound.. get an Invader in it...

Actually any money I've made from mods lately has been paying my bills while I'm not working....I've yet to receive my first short term disability check from our insurance company..When that money shows up,I could probably at least get 1 RIC and a 2x12 cab? :smack: :laugh2:

sometimes i like the more reserved tone of a strat, it doesn't have that bite that will instantly kick my bandmaster into tube overdrive like a tele in the bridge position will. I like keeping things smooth, clean, and 'waily' for the most part, but a tele set up right could match my tastes.

When i get KT 66's perhaps ill enjoy the overdrive factor more on my bandmaster, but until then, i like the strat. You can't get a tele to quack like a strat too....

Strats, Teles and Les Pauls all suck. Any self-respecting rock musician would play a Jackson Soloist or ESP MII.

Hetfield used his '52 reissue tele (w/ b bender) in the studio in the past...as per and interview i saw....even kirk used a tele in the studio....granted not live use but it's on some of the albums! (don't ask which ones, and which songs, i'm still trying to figure that out lol).
