I'm in my mid 30's now and i still like my Jacksons and Charvels...... I have an Exployer also.... I grew up in the 80's super strat pointy headstock era..... I like the super strats a lot!

But i also enjoy the tone of stock Fender Strats, Les Pauls, Godin's and a few Hardtail strats and teles i have pickup along the way.... My Main guitars are a 1987 American Standard Strat and a 1994 Jackson Reverse Dinky-(imported model...

i never was into pointy guitars very much at all...a firebird is as close to one as i like...?!

I've got an Epi V.. Not too pointy, looks kinda vintage shaped, but the original V's are vintage, so..

But I'm only 16, and I'd rather have a Les Paul or Tele over a Jackson or an ESP or a B.C. Rich.

i dont care really what i have, right now i have a jackson ke3 which is my favorite shape i love it, but im thinking im gonna get a soloist next or somethin.. not a big gibson fan at all really, definately doesnt suit my style, sound and looks, i know theyre good guitars and whatever but i kinda think of them as blah

I really noticed this about myself too, but much faster. I wanted a BC Rich as my starter guitar because I thought it was a good guitar for metal. I am infinitely much happier having a fat strat than those pointy, and weird looking guitars.

Well. Im 19, Ive never owned a terribly pointy ass guitar, they just never played as good as more tradtional shaped guitar. i guess im more of a fan of superstrat style guitars. they are easier to play and more metal then normal strats and more comfortable then those darned Porcupine Ironsquirrel watchamacallits.

And TBH nothing looks as cool as my EC-36.

When I first started guitar 4 years ago, I wanted a Les Paul. Now I still want a Les Paul. And 8 years from now, when I'll be paying off my student loans for university, I'll still be wanting a Les Pual. And then I'll finally get one.

I never wanted to touch a guitar that I can be impaled upon while playing.

I never was into the pointy-guitar thing, even back in the 80's. I prefered the looks of Charvels to Jacksons, and the original banana headstock Kramers to the later Jackson-wanna-be Kramers.

Having said that, there is still a place in my heart for Explorers and V's, but I'm not sure if I would classify them as pointy or not.

Ive never been a pointy guitar fan, except the classy points of the Explorer and the V. Not pointy Vs or Explorers though, they have to be the rounded ones.

I think goofy 80's graphics and whatnot annoy me more than a pointy headstock

My first REAL guitar was a 76 Explorer, so I guess that has suttin to do with it.

And I just bought a Firebird...that count? it's kinda rounded...and pretty damn ugly...but classic rounded ugly...not modern pointy ugly

It really just depends on the guitar. BC Rich is the king of pointy guitars, and I would gladly play a Bich or a Mocking bird, Seagull, or an Eagle, but a Warlock, Widow, etc...those are out! Im not sure that V's Explorers, and Moderne's count as point guitars but if they do, count me in for some more of that!!! I love my Moderne!

I have to add this...I have never had any use for the goofy graphics, and neon paint jobs...if you ever catch me with a pointy guitar it would more that likely be a BC Rich and it would be natural with lots of nice looking wood or just a plain simple solid colour or burst...
