Is it the older you get, you're less inclined to pointy axes?

I have to add this...I have never had any use for the goofy graphics, and neon paint jobs...if you ever catch me with a pointy guitar it would more that likely be a BC Rich and it would be natural with lots of nice looking wood or just a plain simple solid colour or burst...

Between your posts and mine, I think we may have been separated at birth my friend ;) :D

And IN NO WAY do these guys look foolish. Not at all. Nup.

LMAO. As much as I like early era Priest (Unleashed in the East is one of my fave albums ever), and Glen/KK's playing/style...I never could take that band too seriously whenever I saw them live or on a video. They just were....NOT cool....not then..not now. Kinda like KISS (but not to THAT extent..Priest actually can play/write ;))

Seeing that ad...the "thumbs up", pointy guitars........jes cracks me up :D

That's one of the reasons I traded my Explorer. Just didn;t seem look right on me anymore.

it was true for me. That's why I didn't even pickup an Ibanez RG. Too pointy for me.
And I would have bought a Jackson, but, all the ones I saw had shark fins and skulls. I wanted the Jackson sound and the headstock, but not the rest. I guess I could've gottena JS-30 it was nice and plain like I wanted, but wasn't sure about the quality.

Nice! I just can't help but to look at a Bich or a mocking bird and see 2 things...a beautiful guitar and a late 70's rock and roll machine! I can see the same guitar with a goofy paint job and all I can think is "80's metal guitar...more than likely has DiMarzio's...yuck!"

Re: Is it the older you get, you're less inclined to pointy axes?

I too love KK and Tipton (yes unleasned in the east along with tokyo tapes and stranger in the night comprise the best 3 live hard rock albums of the 70's) but I must admit regarding Kiss to being a big Paul Stanley fan...anybody who has ever seen them in concert knows (I hope) what a great showman paul is besides having one of the most powerful voices ever in rock. And if you take the old (70's) Kiss for what it was and forget the makup and characters it is just fun basic rock...I mean only a snob will not tap their toes when "love her all I can" starts playing. oh are we supposed to be talking bout pointy guitars? yes they are cheesy :)

An old friend of mine has a BC Rich...I think it's the mocking bird model. Plays great, sounds great but man do I look stupid holding that thing! As for Dave holding it?...he looks cool as hell!

He just went into the store and looked at the wall....(Dave) "That one...I want that one" (Store Clerk) "Do you want to play it?" (Dave) "No, I want to BUY it." Pays cash and walks out the door.

I think theres probably some truth in it... I'm 18 and have a Jackson and an Ibanez... and I crave more Jacksons :P I also can't stand Teles and LP's... just never appealed to me what so ever
