Is it worth adding out of phase and parallel wiring?

Are there any good tones you can get using out of phase and parallel wiring? I am getting a Alnico 2 pro to go in the neck to match with a custom in the bridge and I am just going to split them using one volume pot. Would any of the above configurations sound good with a double hum setup and is it worth adding another switch?

I don't like split or parallel wiring, but ther is much to be said for having the ability to split two humbuckers independantly from each other.

I think it depends a lot on the individual pickup. A Stag Mag sounds good split, but then again, it was specifically designed that way.

I have series split/parallel on my dd (bridge and phase switching between pickups, parallel bridge combined with phase switched neck makes the ultimate reggae/funk tone. It hasn't offered a huge increase in playability for me, but I like having options. And I'm a switch freak.

I have two on/on/on mini switches on my Strat with the PGN and 59TB. So each pickup can be be used split, parallel or single. Gives me a lot of range. I think it's useful...and alot of fun too!

But out-of-phase mosquito tone doesn't do a thing for me! I wouldn't bother with a switch for that.

I will be installing my Jazz & JB and adding 2 mini on/on switches for series/parallel for each PU, give a few more sound options, even if they are never used, at least I have the option...
