Is the myth of the Les Paul headstock true?

Re: Is the myth of the Les Paul headstock true?

I was 16 and just gotten a new Les Paul Custom and had it in the stand. I was at the end of the stage and saw the bass player reach behind my stand to get his bass...

It was like slow motion and I saw it tilt....then fall and hit headstock first. Since then I haven't owned a Les Paul.

For a second there, I thought you'd posted, "Since then I haven't owned a bass player."

That pretty much sums up the reality of the situation.

My old 88/89 Standard fell over once- totally my fault as I got my foot tangled up in the cord, headstock hit the side of my Laney cab and bounced off hard - bent a kluson, that was it. Of course the Kluson probably kept it from breaking the headstock, but still my fault.
