Is the Screamin' Demon tight in the bass?

One of my guitars has a bit more low end naturally, alder body, maple neck. I'm trying to balance this out with a pickup that has less low end and a tighter bass. I have the Custom Custom right now which works fairly well but I could use even less bottom and tighter. So, how would the Demon compare to the Custom Custom? Does it have more or less low end?

CC has an A2 magnet - SD has and A5 - - so right there the SD is going to have a tighter bass. If you want to go even tighter and and want to save money, just swap an A8 magnet into that CC.

the demon has what gets referred to as the "chugga" thing happening
it's very tight in the bottom with a pronounced chug to the chug.
do it!

I have a George, I really like it. I changed my volume pot to a 1 meg, completely changed the pup. Not sure I like it. I think I'm going to put the 500 back in.

Yep, that works!

Based on your description, the SD should be an improvement. I have a similar guitar, strat-shaped, but mine is heavier in the lower-mids not bass. That guitar had a SD and I loved it.

I recall the SD being a very brightish pickup so I suspect it would be tighter. Personally I didn't like it. A very inexpensive trick you can try is replace the longer pole screws with shorter hex screws. It is subtle but can tighten up the bottom.

I had a SD, I liked it, but I just didn't have the right guitars to put it on- I tried it on several, I really liked the articulation, but it did seem to be a bit bright.

I have the SD at the bridge of an SC250. It's very bright and very tight in the bottom, in fact to much so for this particular guitar. If you think your guitar is bottom-heavy, the SD might work really well to tighten it up because it's not a bottomy pickup.
