is the SD STR-1 Tele rhythm Awg 43?

Yesterday I happened to break one of the wire of my STR-1 on my tele trying to remove the cover.
It was difficult to fix it but I did. Anyway I've noticed the wire seems real thin. and otherwise I can't understand how a 7.8K pickup sounds weaker than a similar impedance pickup at the bridge.

is it a 43AWG? is that the reason for its compressed and slighly darker sound?

traditional telecaster neck pups were wound with #43 wire

Due to the coil size, they couldn't wind it strong enough with 42. The resonant peak is a bit lower with 43, but really not that much in such a low strength pickup. The real killer is the cover.
