Is the SH-5 Custom with an alnico 5 magnet EXACTLY the same as a Custom 5? (SH-14)

I own a Duncan Custom (SH-5) and put an alnico 5 magnet in because I didn't like the Ceramic bar in there, sounds amazing to my taste.
Now i want to order one for my 2nd guitar.
Can I order a Custom 5 and get exactly the same sound or do I have to do the same trick to be sure?
Maybe someone from the factory knows?

If the Alnico 5 magnet that you used is the same (foundry, charge, etc.) as what Seymour Duncan uses, the pickups should be the same (allowing for manufacturing tolerances).

Yes, the Custom with an A5 is a Custom 5. With an A2, it becomes the Custom Custom. It is a very versatile wind.

I believe the story behind the Custom 5 is someone from this forum came up with it by magnet swapping, and due to popular demand, they decided to make it a production model.

So yes. I think it's confirmed it's the exact same wind.
