Affirmative. I swapped an A8 into a 9k A5 humbucker and it definitely boosted the output as well as shifting the EQ to more lows & low mids.

Except that Fuzz sound is really the oppisite of "boogie overdrive" distortionwise.

You might be surprised! There are a LOT of fuzz pedals out there; they don't all sound like a Big Muff.
Full disclosure, though: I missed the capital B in "Boogie" and took it to mean "full tilt" rather than "like a Mesa Boogie".

Yas you can go to A8 or ceramic, or double thick A8 or ceramic, or even add flanking magnets and that pumps up the output a lot.
