I don't know if this is fake or not. The price seems too good to be true. The neck looks like that of a les paul custom, and the truss rod cover has two screws on the bottom, it should only have one. So is this a fake?

it looks fake.... the headstock and inlays look like a Custom style design... something i've never seen on a Studio....

that's what I figured...I knew it couldn't be a les paul studio, and figured it wasn't a real Gibson.

heh all these fakes are making me wary of deal-hunting on the Bay.

My policy is, if there's only one pic, the guitar you end up with probably won't even be the guitar in that pic. Only buy from people who've taken the time to show the thing off.

Good policy. It would be hard for me to buy a Gibson on eBay at all with all the fakes I've seen.... In person is much better.

Nobody said the copies weren't as good as Gibsons. We're saying it's stupid to buy a guitar that's not a Gibson, that says Gibson on the headstock.

Odds are good if it's a fake, down to the fake Gibson logo, it's made as cheaply as possible to pawn off to some chump for as much profit as possible. It's not like this is some luthier struggling to get his product out -- this is a con artist trying to rip you off.

I agree 100% about Japanese copies. I'd rather have a Tokai Love Rock than a Gibson Les Paul just because the headstock says "Love Rock"...i think that's bad-ass.

All I know is that if I'm going to buy a Gibson, I probably won't get one off of ebay. I'd rather stay local or drive up to Austin. Ebay sucks when it comes to knockoffs being passed/sold as the "real deal".

That account appears to have been hi-jacked. All previous activity has been clothing and suddenly he's selling 18 guitars, many with the same title of "Les Paul Studio Custom" - including this one that's an SG

yea. I'd hate to be on the bad end of a title mis-spell but I nearly nabbed a jackson "Fyling v" for about $100 not too long ago...the seller noticed the mistake and cancelled everything before it ended. I'd probably have been somewhat merciful...somewhat....
