Is this a real Seymour Duncan?

I was a bit scared, when I saw your latest pictures because of the square bobbin hole WITHOUT the surrounding circle! But I checked my trembuckers and this is normal. Only the standard sized bobbins have the additional circle.
have fun with it!
so SH-5, SH-11 and SH-15 or the hybrid too?

Duncan Support confirmed it as well. I'm happy :D

And yes, I have the Custom, Custom Custom, 59/Custom Hybrid and Alternative 8

All are in Les Pauls except for the C2 which didn't sound good to me except for a super strat. Tried it in the middle position on my Nightswan and it was way too dark.

I think that pickup is meant for 25.5 scale super Strats - Floyd or fixed bridge. Maybe a brighter tonewood as well

Maybe it's just me and my preference for bright bridge pups.

the cc isnt overly bright obviously, but thats why i wouldnt use it in any other position since itll be even less bright

Hello people,

I am shocked at how good quality fake Seymour Duncan pickups are. I bring some more information about the fake TB-4, since I have a legit TB-4 and I was able to compare them in detail.
Let's go to the pics:

Fake one above. The box has good quality too.

DCR now is OK. The chinese are getting better...

Gotta say, the differences are minute. I bet there’s been more differences when a dude in SD was having a bad day.

Hello, I have two Cool Rails pickups. I'm pretty certain that the one with the sticker on the back is real, but I don't know about the second one with no sticker. The stickered one is 9.7 ohm and the unstickered one is 9.4 ohm.

Welcome to the forum

Flatwork, wiring and components look the same. I don't know how often people counterfeit rails, but I supposed they could, there are cheap versions of rail-based pickups out there; but I think the construction would be more obviously different. I think it's real and the sticker just came off myself. That's just my one opinion. Maybe wait for a couple more folks to confirm.

You are right to ask, even if they are legit. We have some good experts here, and I'd rather people take advantage of their knowledge before you spend $.

Is this a real Duncan, and if so what model? The signature is printed/stamped on the base plate, there’s no evidence of wax potting and the DCR is 7.41k. Could it be an Antiquity?
