Is this a real Seymour Duncan?

I thought all OEM sets for particular model guitars have the white logo on the 59n
The ones I’ve seen in stores don’t have it. If you build one on the SD website, it starts with the logo in the picture, but once you select 1C or 4C the logo disappears from the picture.
Looks like a a Dec/2019 build date.Maybe they did a run in 2019?

Pick up a set of humbuckers, a neck 59 4 conductor and a JB model. They were second hand but supposed to be brand new. Everything looks brand new and legit.
The thing I'm wondering is that everywhere I look, the 59 never came from the production line with the "Seymour Duncan" white logo on the front.
Everything looks good and I measured 3.7k on each coil for a total of 7.4k, which is what SD spec is on that one.

Had another look!
i think those are fakes:
the self cutting screws look wrong, especially for a recent one!
also the slut of the screws I too thin. Also the screws don’t have the small flat top.
the hole where you can spot the wiring is in the middle between edge and polepieces, where as on my it’s pretty close to the pole piece!
the tooling marks for bending the legs is also not the typical mark

That's why I said OEM. OEM is not in store.

Makes no sense.
If I buy a SD Jazz from my music store and they ordered it from SD it’s just as OEM as the one I would order directly from SD. I don’t think they sprinkle magic pixie dust on the one ordered directly from them. We’re talking about a production 59 model.
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer

You don't seem to know what OEM indicates. OEM are used in manufactured goods, like an assembled guitar, not sold individually in stores. The person said it was "second-hand", which to me indicates it was either pulled from a guitar or could have been stock intended to be used in manufacturing a particular guitar model, which makes it a candidate to being an OEM model, not one you buy off store shelves. OEM 59s, for example, for Charvel, most have the logo that I've seen.

Is it normal if I can remove the plastic pickup cover on my duckbucker single coil sized humbucker? I have to use a piece of tape to hold the pickup inside the plastic pickup cover

Generally, they are glued on. If you post pics of the pickup, we might be able to determine if it is legit.

Hey brothers and sisters!

I recently bought what I thought were a set of Seymour Duncan Antiquities V1. Now I'm not sure. I think I have read somewherw that the first version was different from the current ones.

They measure:

Neck 6.76
Middle 6.67
Bridge 6.81

Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

Those looks like Duncan covers on some other manufacturers grey bottom strat pickups. The covers don't even look like legit Duncan covers, in that the bridge logo is smeared, like it was printed poorly. The first Duncan Antiquities strat pickups were the Texas Hot ones with black bottoms (I have those.). The grey bottom would have been the Antiquity II Surfer version, but those are missing the signature stickers and serial number (if they ever had them.). Grey bottoms with those DCR readings don't match Duncans I'm aware of.

Is this a legit TB-5. Few things look off to me, flat black coil, dull screws and pole pieces, the pict of the back side has a holographic Seymour Duncan sticker, no engraving om the back plate either. Oh and its $59 vs $99 for a new TB-5 four conductor

Im not looking to buy it, trying to help someone else out. 11713-17-ZMBMPrch-UPl-11L-9.jpg 11713-17-ZMBMPrch-UPl-11L-5.jpg

The baseplate is not a Trembucker baseplate. TB baseplates have 3 holes and rounded corners.

I haven't seen a 2021 Duncan baseplate to know if they've moved to a sticker logo. The printed logo on the bobbins looks small, like the rail-style, to me.

Hello everyone ! Pardon my english, I'm a french guy.

I'm about to sell a SH-2 humbucker.
The guy who wants to buy it asks me if my pickup is a copy or not, 'cause Aliexpress does copies.

I have a number serie on the box: 11102-01-B.

Under the pickup, it's written "Seymour Duncan Made In America", and the following number on a sticker:

"I1IS1 20161010
SH-2N Neck".

I know we can find the origin of a Fender guitar with specific search engine, but nothing for Seymour Duncan's pickup.

Can you help me please ?

Thank you everyone !

Yes, that is a legit TB-5!

During the pandemic, there were supply chain shortages that affected the availability of the standard baseplates, so SD had to source baseplates from another manufacturer. Because these alternative baseplates didn't have the typical "Seymour Duncan" stamping on them, SD used the holographic decals instead.

You will find that the spacing is still "trem" spaced like you would expect from a TB-5. Someday, this version will probably be a collector's item, LOL!
